How to schedule a shutdown of your Windows 7 PC

Hello, in this how-to we will be using Windows 7 and the Task Scheduler.

We will begin by clicking on the START button. In the search box type
task scheduler and select the result by clicking on it.

The Task Scheduler window will open and select Create Basic Task.

Note: Click on the images for a larger view.

Now it will open up the Create Basic Task Wizard window. Here, type
the name and description. Just follow the image below and click Next.

Under the Task Trigger you can choose when and how often you want
this task to perform. For this example we want to shutdown the PC
everyday at 1:00AM. So we'll select Daily. Then click Next.

Set the Start Date and Time then click Next.

Under Action select Start a program and click Next.

In here type in the location where the shutdown.exe is located which is
C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe and don't forget to include /s
under Add arguments (optional):
Then click Next.

Check the Summary. If everything is ok then click Finish.

After clicking Finish, under the Active Tasks you will see the
Shutdown PC task that we just created.

So there you have it. You can now easily schedule any date and time to shutdown your PC.
